The Virtual Dependency

We discussed something like this in our class and it made me wonder how dependent we have become on something which was supposed to just make our life easy.

I am talking about technology. All these mobile applications and gadgets have made us so dependent on them that we have just accepted it as it is.

If you are not living under a rock then you must know that all the information that we share or search or more or less even mention nowadays gets stored in the massive databases and are being transferred to other third party apps and organizations. So it’s like putting your valuables in a safe only to know that you don’t get it’s key. And even if we do know about this, what do we possibly do about it? Just swiftly click on that ‘I agree’ option and continue scrolling.

We just don’t realize how dependent we have become. We know the consequences but we also know we can’t live about it. Maybe we just don’t want to live without it. We have just accepted the fact that this is how it’s going to be.

We say that you shouldn’t let anyone control you but aren’t we just getting manipulated by our screens and mobile phones?
